Illustrator is an Adobe program where you can design vector images to create logos or simple collaborations. You are allowed to change the colors and size or the vector images. Vector images are images that when enlarged or shrunk, they do not change in quality. They are not built in pixels, rather they are lines and corners, and adjust to the size you put it at.

To the right, it shows the steps I took to get to the final Illustrator file. I started out with the red outline. The red indicates to the laser that that section wants to be cut out. Next, I added the word "Bentley" which is my dogs name. I picked the font I wanted and the size of the text. After I created the text outlines, I found a vector image of an Australian Shepherd and positioned it where it looked good on my key chain. Now I am ready for the laser.

Vinyl Decal
What Did I Learn
I have previously used Adobe Illustrator in a class called Graphic Design. During this Illustrator unit, I learned how to take vector images and put them together to make a key chain that I later used to 3D print. I managed to make 2 Adobe Illustrator files of key chains. For the vinyl, I was able to learn how to fully cut out and place a vinyl decal onto any surface.
